'News 3 This Morning' Now Rises Earlier
Expanded Newscast Offers Early Risers New Option
WISC-TV's "News 3 This Morning" is now on the air a half-hour earlier each weekday with the best local news and weather team taking to the air starting at 4:30 a.m.
As of Monday, October 11, morning news viewers can now get two-and-a-half hours of local news and weather with anchors Rob Starbuck and Charlotte Deleste. The expanded broadcast will now feature an even earlier look at the day's news and more time to prepare viewers for the day ahead. Meteorologist Haddie McLean will continue to provide the day's forecast and glimpses of the days to come.
"We know more people are getting up earlier and want local news at 4:30 a.m.," said WISC-TV news director Colin Benedict. "News 3 was the first station in Madison to provide a 30-minute morning newscast back in 1991 and our experienced team is excited to once again offer a new option for our viewers."
Viewers taking the 4:30 a.m. challenge can expect the most updated news headlines including the latest happenings from overnight, plus an early look at the business markets and the earliest look at the day's weather forecast.
For viewers who sleep in a little bit later or have a work schedule that precludes them from such an early start to their day, the final two hours of "News 3 This Morning" continues to be replayed on sister station TVW weekdays from 7-9 a.m. TVW is available over-the-air on digital channel 3.2 and also through Charter Cable and DirecTV on channel 14.
