    Nearly a century after his heyday, Coach Guy Lowman to be inducted into UW hall of fame

    In 1918, during World War I, Guy Lowman served as head coach for three Badgers sports simultaneously—baseball, football and basketball, likely the only time that’s ever happened. His basketball team won the 1918 Big Ten Championship. That same year the Badgers football team beat Ohio State in Columbus by the score of 14-3. It would be 64 years—not until 1982—before the Badgers won another football game in Columbus.
