What is your favorite part about living in Madison?
I love all of the parks and trails hidden around the city. It seems like there is always a new park to explore.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
That's funny! With three young children, spare time is in short supply right now. If I could carve out a couple of hours of free time I would take a nap.
What is your family life like? Significant other, married, kids?
My husband, Scott, and I have three children, Izzy, Aidan and Evan. We also share our house with Nimbus, our family cat.
What is your favorite kind of ice cream?
Mint chocolate chip
What is the funniest thing that's ever happened to you?
I'll never forget the morning I was chased off of the weather patio by an opossum.
What is your favorite place to vacation?
I love to relax at my family's cabin in northwestern Wisconsin.
What are you really bad at that you'd love to be great at?
It would be fun to be a great dancer.
What is your most memorable travel experience?
Trip to Barcelona after college. I was so excited to speak Spanish after studying it for years in high school and college. Evidently I didn't study long enough, at a restaurant my husband and I ended up with only a plate of cheese for dinner!
What is the worst job you have ever had?
I've learned something from every job. The summer that I waitressed, I learned that I'm not a very good waitress.
What is your favorite tradition around the holidays?
My Grandma's famous homemade rolls. It isn't a holiday without them!
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
I've gotten a lot of good advice over the years, but I'll always remember my mom telling my to "be a class act." She also told me that "you don't have to take back something you haven't said."
Where were you when September 11, 2001 occurred?
At home in Madison. It was my day off and a phone call woke me up.
